"I recently purchased a new Carrier Ultra High Efficiency Furnace and Hot Water Tank from Wes Diskin at Barron Heating. It started with Wes coming out to my home and asking me a series of questions so that he could properly asses my needs. He walked through the house, inspected the existing furnace and hot water tank, and then looked under the house. Before Wes left my home, I had a bid print-out accompanied by brochures for all the equipment that would be required.

Less than a week later, came the installation. Two installers arrived on time and went over what they would be doing. I left them to do their work and later came back that afternoon to a completed job. When I walked in the house both the furnace and hot water tank were operating with no mess left behind. Everything was cleaned up and you would never have known anyone was there! The installers walked me through the operation of the new thermostat and maintenance procedures for the Electronic Air Cleaner. They did not leave until I was completely confident with my new systems operation.

This is the third home I have owned in Whatcom County and the third set of both furnace and hot water tank that I have had installed. Before having the work done on the previous two homes, I obtained several bids. I chose the lowest bid each time and I ended up paying for it in the long run. The contractor left a mess in my garage. He had to borrow some of MY tools because his were "at the shop", and I was on my own to figure out the operation of the new system. As the next heating season rolled around, I wanted to get the furnace inspected to make sure it was going to work properly. When I called the Contractor who installed it, I found out he was no longer in business. It was at this point I first called Barron Heating. Barron sent a repair technician out the very next day at which time he found a potential problem with the furnace. Evidently, the installer that had originally installed it a year prior, neglected to properly connect the condensate drain. This allowed water to drain inside the furnace compartment. Hmmm, perhaps work like this is why he is no longer in business? The point of all this is simply, you get what you pay for.

I would not hesitate to recommend Barron Heating. Their installers are conscientious people with professional attitudes. Wes Diskin, the Salesman, was more of an adviser than a salesman. He was thorough and attentive and listened to all my concerns. Wes then made several educated suggestions for my particular situation. He even came back after the job was completed, just to make sure I was completely satisfied. Who does THAT these days? "I'm writing to give the highest recommendation for Barron Heating and Air Conditioning. A few months ago we shopped around for three different bids to replace our noisy, inefficient window air conditioners with a heat pump system. One didn't return our contact for several weeks; the other came in with a high bid and very little information.

Wes from Barron Heating promptly returned our call. He answered all of our questions and had great suggestions for energy/dollar savings. In addition to the heat pump/air conditioning, we were able to install a tank-less water heater, something we'd been thinking about for some time. Even with the added water heater system, Barron's bid was less that the other bid, and will give us even more future energy savings.

With all this work to do, we wondered whether they would, as promised, really be able to finish in one day. Barron showed up with seven workers at around 9 am and all was finished, in working order, and the area very nicely cleaned up by 5 pm. All the workers were friendly and helpful. They let us know every step of the way what was happening, when they'd have to shut off the water for a short time, etc. After everything was installed, they instructed us thoroughly in use of the new systems.

As an added benefit, during the installation Barron found and corrected a builder defect in the plumbing. For no extra charge, they carried a pipe out to drain externally, avoiding potential future foundation and mold problems.

A week or so after the installation, Wes stopped by to check on the settings for the air conditioning system and to see if we had more questions.

Having lived with the system for over a month, we are very happy with the nice constant temperature in the house (something our window air conditioners couldn't do) and how quiet the system is (even better than promised).

"Last year I purchased a 1906 craftsman home in the historic lettered streets of Bellingham. After one winter it became very apparent that even with storm windows installed, base board heat was incredibly inefficient and not going to cut it. I began looking into heating options in the spring. Friends had mentioned the rebates and tax credits that were available and as a new home owner saving money was a high priority for me. I was also interested in something efficient that would save me money over the long term and limit my use of energy resources. Longevity and dependability we key for me as well.

I looked around online for local companies and was hoping to get a few estimates. I had always heard good things about Barron. When Wes from the green team showed up I understood why. He was great. Since my house had never had a furnace, we had to problem solve the space issue and Wes understood my desire for something that would limit my impact on the environment. He had some great suggestions and assured me that his team would be able to pull it off. I chose the Barron quote and in the end we settled on installing a Navien On-Demand water heater under the stairs and placing the Lennox furnace where the hot water heater used to be. With the duct work and venting installed, it all fit in the minimal space and works perfectly.

Barron coordinated the gas install to the house and the electrical work. They walked me through the whole process and got started on the job right away. Except for the daily progress on the install, you would never know they were there. The job was finished in a timely manner. Afterward, Wes called to check in and they even mailed me the filled out rebate forms to sign and send out. In the end I received a Manufactures Rebate, PSE and Cascade Gas rebates, and the Federal tax credits. These totaled $6,200! Over half of the cost of installing the furnace and water heater. "Last spring I came to the conclusion that I needed a new home furnace. The furnace that came with our house was beginning to fail. I contacted three companies to come to my house and inform me of my options. Wes from Barron came in first place! Not only did he spend twice as long assessing my situation, he even went into the crawl space to look at the duct work! "We are very pleased with our new Barron Heating and Air Conditioning System.

In April 2008 we contacted Barron for central heating for our 1350sf home, previously served by individual electric wall heaters and a wood stove. Our heaters were so loud when operating, we had to yell to be heard over them. So we asked our estimator, Wes Diskin, to design a quieter system for us. We decided on a Carrier heat pump plus a furnace and heating ducts to both floors of our home, which Chris Foster and others installed. Wes and Chris are outstanding employees who went above and beyond in customer service to us.

Unfortunately, with the heat pump, we experienced nearly as much noise in our living room as before, due to the unusual design of our home plus short runs of metal ductwork. It was our choice to install metal rather than flexible plastic ductwork. After listening to our noise concerns, Wes told us that Barron does not leave customers unsatisfied. Wes exchanged to bigger heat pump for a smaller unit with no additional labor cost and refunded the difference in price!

Our revised system is so quiet and responsive, we rarely notice it running. We are also pleased with the high level of customer service we received from Wes and the rest of your team. We would gladly recommend Barron Heating to anyone!" - Dan and Janice P.
