Everything to Know About the Barron KARES Program

In this day and age, it’s not enough to be a standard HVAC company. Contractors can do great work, but communities can only thrive by having active community members who contribute to those who need help the most. Our business relies on community support just as much as our customers rely on us to do extraordinary work and show results.

So, one way we’re giving back is with the Barron KARES program. It’s a hands-on approach toward HVAC work rooted in empathy and good service. Each month, we’ll shine a spotlight on a specific charity or non-profit organization that is respected amongst our team and the community as a whole. We’ll provide a charitable donation, spread awareness, and work hard to give back.

Let’s talk about what this program means and why it’s so important to us.

The Philosophy of Giving Back

Each month, the Barron gives $110 from select purchases, such as tankless water heaters, heat pumps, solar installations, generators, and more to the charity or nonprofit that’s selected by our team. But why do we give $110?

It all started with the mentor of our owner, John Barron, who advised to “go above and beyond your call of duty–push past 100, give 110% every time.” This philosophy has stayed true to our organization, our staff, and whatever we do. The $110 simply represents our desire to give 110% with every commitment, and giving back is no exception to that rule.

Since 1972, we’ve been a family-run business that’s had deep roots in this community. Through our Barron KARES program, we won’t just discuss our core values and commitment to the community, we’ll live up to them.

Barron KARES

Why do we call our program Barron KARES? It’s simple. KARES stands for five important principles we live by–kindness, appreciation, response, empathy, and service.

  • Kindness. A friendly face can go a long way. We strive to be kind to every customer, friend, family member, and other members of our community.
  • Appreciation. We appreciate the hard work our team does, as well as what our community does for us.
  • Response. We act quickly to do what’s right. The desire to help our community and those in need is core to who we are, and we always act accordingly.
  • Empathy. We work hard to understand our customers, our friends, and our community members.
  • Service. Service speaks for itself when it’s done right. We put our work first and make sure that customers can trust the services we provide.

This Month’s Organization

The organization we’re supporting this month is Skookum Kids, which is a foster care nonprofit based in Northwest Washington and the surrounding area. This is a program that focuses on aiding children who are within the foster care system, so they can truly thrive.
